On September 30, 2016 at 6:15 p.m., Hampton Township officers were dispatched to Route 8, near Harts Run Road, for a multiple vehicle accident, with possible injuries. Upon arrival, officers located three vehicles blocking all four lanes of Route 8. Two operators had to be extricated from their vehicles, and all three operators were transported by ambulance to the hospital. The three involved vehicles were heavily damaged and all were towed from the scene. The accident was caused when the operator of one vehicle crossed over the double yellow line on the roadway and struck two other vehicles head-on.
