On January 8, 2017 at 4:33 a.m., Hampton Township officers were dispatched to Middle Road, at Wildwood Extension, for a single vehicle accident involving the operator fleeing the scene on foot. The operator was reported to be walking down Middle Road towards Cedar Ridge Road. Officers were able to locate the individual in question, who showed signs of impairment. The operator failed to complete field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI. The vehicle had crashed into a guide rail and was towed from the scene.
