On April 14, 2017 at 1:50 a.m., a Hampton Township officer initiated a traffic stop on Route 8, at Wildwood Road Ext., after observing a speeding vehicle. Upon speaking to the driver, they showed signs of impairment and were asked to perform a series of field sobriety tests. The operator was unable to complete the tests as had been explained and demonstrated and was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI.
