On May 6, 2017 at 2:08 p.m., Hampton Township officers were dispatched to Route 8 for a two vehicle accident. Upon arrival, one vehicle was found to be blocking both northbound lanes of travel. The accident occurred when the operator of one vehicle was attempting to enter Route 8 from a business parking lot to travel south. The operator did not see a vehicle traveling in the northbound passing lane, and the two vehicles collided. The passenger of one vehicle was transported to the hospital by ambulance after they complained of injury. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.
