On June 3, 2017 at 5:40 a.m., Hampton Township officers were dispatched to Route 8, near Clearview Road, for a vehicle that was reported to have gone up a hillside. Upon arrival, the vehicle was observed to be stuck up on a hillside. The operator stated that they dozed off while driving, which resulted in the crash. A tow truck responded to the scene to remove the vehicle from the hillside. The vehicle sustained minor damage as did a section of guide rail at the location of the accident.
