On November 5th, 2014 at 10:20 AM a Hampton Twp. resident reported a fraudulent scam. The caller reported that they received a call from a person who identified themselves as a Publishers Clearing House employee and stated that they had won 2 million dollars and that he would need to contact a certain person and provide him with account information to claim his prize. The caller was advised that this is a common scam and should they receive any further phone calls to contact police. They were also advised to never give out any personal information over the phone or internet.
