On October 27, 2017 at 10:52 p.m., Hampton Township officers were dispatched to the intersection of Clearview Road and Clarkland Avenue for an individual in a vehicle who appeared to be intoxicated. The reporting party stated that the driver of the vehicle was slumped over the steering wheel. The reporting party remained on scene until officers arrived, and had turned the involved vehicle off and had removed the keys from the ignition to prevent the individual from driving from the scene. Upon the officers arrival, the driver was shouting obscenities and was making statements that made no sense. The officer detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the individual's vehicle. The individual was also found to be in possession of paraphernalia. Field sobriety tests were not performed due to the physical and mental state of the operator, and based on the totality of the circumstances, the driver was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI.
