On September 2, 2018 at 11:01 p.m., a Hampton Township officer observed a vehicle weaving within it's lane of travel on Route 8. The officer then observed the vehicle to weave out of it's lane of travel, at which time a traffic stop was initiated. Upon making contact with the driver, the officer immediately observed the operator to have bloodshot, glassy eyes and slow, slurred speech. The officer also detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the vehicle. The operator was then asked to submit to field sobriety tests, which they were unable to complete as had been explained and demonstrated. Due to the totality of the circumstances, the operator was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence.
