On December 3, 2018 at 12:58 p.m., Hampton Township officers responded to Route 8, at Duncan Avenue, for a two vehicle accident. The accident occurred when one operator was stopped in the southbound passing lane of travel on Route 8, waiting for stopped vehicles ahead to turn left, when their vehicle was struck from behind. The impact caused the other vehicle to spin 180 degrees and jump over the curb on the side of the roadway. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.
