On December 23, 2018 at 10:22 p.m., Hampton Police were dispatched to a business on Route 8 for a report of an individual who was said to be passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle. Upon the responding officers arrival, they located the vehicle in question with a male passed out in the driver's seat. The officer was able to wake the driver, who was eventually asked to step from the vehicle. The operator was observed to be unsteady on their feet and showed visible signs of impairment. The operator was subsequently placed under arrest.
