On December 28, 2018 at 6:13 p.m., Hampton Township officers responded to the intersection of Route 8 and West Hardies Road for a two vehicle accident. Upon the officers arrival, they located both vehicles still in the roadway. The accident occurred when one vehicle rear ended the other while it was stopped at a steady red light. The operator of one vehicle showed visible signs of impairment and was observed to be unsteady on their feet. The operator failed to complete field sobriety tests as had been explained and demonstrated and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence.
