On January 14, 2019 at 7:03 a.m., Hampton Township officers responded to Route 8, near Harts Run Road, for a three vehicle accident. Upon the officer's arrival, the drivers of the vehicles stated that one vehicle had been fully stopped in the northbound passing lane of Route 8, waiting to turn left, when the accident occurred. A vehicle traveling two cars behind the stopped vehicle then rear ended the vehicle directly in front of it that was slowing down for the stopped vehicle ahead. The second involved vehicle was then pushed into the stopped vehicle as a result of getting rear-ended. All three vehicles were towed from the scene and two vehicle occupants were taken to the hospital by ambulance.
