On May 13, 2019 at 2:39 p.m., Hampton Township Police responded to Route 8 for a two vehicle accident. Upon arrival, they located both involved vehicles in the area of Aldi. There were no injuries reported at the time of the crash. After speaking with both involved operators, it was determined that the accident occurred when one operator was attempting to turn left onto Route 8 from a parking lot to then travel south. The operator was waved out by the driver of another vehicle stopped in the northbound curb lane of Route 8, however, failed to see a vehicle traveling in the northbound passing lane. The operator entered Route 8 and struck the oncoming vehicle. One vehicle had to be towed from the scene.
