On May 14, 2019 at 12:45 p.m., Hampton Township Police received a phone call from a resident who observed a vehicle strike a pet cat on Pere Marquette Drive. The reporting party stated that the driver appeared to be distracted, and did not appear to be paying attention to the roadway at the time of the incident. The animal later died from the sustained injuries.
