On June 12, 2019 at 5:03 p.m., Hampton Township Police responded to Route 8, near South Pioneer Road, for a two vehicle accident. Upon the officer's arrival, they found that both involved vehicles were blocking both southbound lanes of travel. The accident occurred when one vehicle operator was waiting to turn left to travel south on Route 8 from a parking lot. The operator failed to see an oncoming vehicle traveling north in the passing lane, as the vehicle was obscured by a line of stopped traffic in the curb lane. The operator attempted to exit the parking lot and struck the oncoming vehicle. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage and had to be towed from the scene.
