On June 25, 2019 at 1:26 p.m., a Hampton Township officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle, on Route 8, after observing multiple traffic violations. The officer observed the vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed, weave out of it's lane of travel, and strike a curb. Upon making contact with the operator at the driver's window, the officer observed some signs of impairment. The officer also detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the operator's breath while speaking with them. The operator was subsequently placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI.
