On August 30, 2019 at 2:32 a.m., Hampton Township officers responded to a business location on Route 8 after a concerned citizen called 911 to report a possibly intoxicated driver. The reporting party stated that the operator was driving poorly, and appeared to be falling asleep behind the wheel. The responding officer located the vehicle and suspected driver. The operator showed visible signs of impairment, and was having difficulty staying awake. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest after being unable to complete field sobriety tests as had been explained and demonstrated.
