On August 30, 2019 at 8:45 p.m., Hampton Township officers were dispatched to the area of Route 8 for a possible intoxicated driver. The reporting party stated that the vehicle was being operated poorly, and was observed to leave it's lane of travel on multiple occasions. A Hampton Township officer was able to intercept the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The operator showed visible signs of impairment and the officer detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the vehicle. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests as had been explained and demonstrated and was subsequently placed under arrest for DUI.
