On November 9, 2019 at 2:55 p.m., Hampton Township Police received a report from a resident from Polo Fields Drive regarding fraud. The reporting party stated that they received a phone call from a young male who claimed to be their grandson. The caller told the resident that they had rented a vehicle and then got into an accident. They stated that they needed a large sum of money to pay an attorney to settle the case and told the reporting party to respond to Home Depot to purchase gift cards totaling the requested amount of funds. The phone call was found to be a scam.
