On March 4, 2020 at 5:26 p.m., Hampton Township Police responded to Route 8, at Clearview Road, for a two vehicle accident. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the involved drivers who stated that the accident happened when one vehicle was stopped in the southbound passing lane, waiting for a vehicle stopped ahead that was going to turn left onto Clearview Road. The vehicle was struck from behind by another vehicle that was unable to stop quickly enough after another car that had been traveling ahead of it abruptly changed lanes. One vehicle had to be towed from the scene.
