[ARCHIVED] Fraud

On December 5, 2014 at 8:00 PM The Hampton Township Police were dispatched to an I.R.S agent impersonation scam. The caller was contacted and stated that he did not send any money; however, was very concerned due to the fact that the caller had all of his personal information and he owns a business. He thought that maybe it was real due to the amount of information and that he was threatened with arrest by the "U.S. Treasury Agent" if he terminated the call prior to providing some form of payment. He was obviously skeptical due to the thick Middle Eastern/Indian accent and a name that did not appear to be consistent with the nationality. He was advised that it was a scam and to monitor his finances.
