On July 17, 2020 at 5:36 p.m., Hampton Township Police responded to Route 8 for a two vehicle accident with no reported injuries. Upon their arrival, both vehicles were located in a nearby parking lot. The operators stated that the accident occurred when one vehicle, which had been traveling south in the passing lane, attempted to merge into the curb lane due to a vehicle that was stopped ahead. Upon doing so, the vehicle sideswiped another car which was traveling south in the curb lane. Both vehicles sustained minor damage and were able to be driven from the scene.
