On October 30, 2020 at 9:43 p.m., Hampton Township Police responded to Duncan Avenue for a single vehicle accident involving a deer. Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle in question, which had sustained severe damage to the front end. The operator stated that a deer ran into the roadway, and when they swerved to miss the deer, the vehicle struck a utility pole, tree, and fire hydrant. The utility pole was observed to be leaning and the hydrant was laying on the roadway. Duquesne Light Co. and Hampton Shaler Water Authority were notified of the damage. While speaking with the vehicle operator, the officer observed visible signs of impairment. The operator was transported to the hospital and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
