On December 19, 2014 at 4:10 PM Hampton Twp Police took a suspicious phone call report. The caller reported that he received a voice message on his home phone from someone at the number (285-654-2122) stating that they were from the IRS and that he had an unpaid bill that needed settled or he was going to be arrested. He stated that he knew it was a scam, but wanted a report on file to help spread the knowledge of these scams. He was advised that it was a scam and to ignore all further calls from the number in future. Residents can also file a complaint with the IRS, the FTC, and stopfraud.gov.
