On April 4, 2021 at 6:42 p.m., Hampton Township Police responded to West Hardies Road, at Lakewood Drive, for a two vehicle accident with injuries. Upon their arrival, officers were approached by one of the involved drivers who indicated that the other party was possibly under the influence. The driver advised that they were stopped at a stop sign at that intersection when they were struck from behind by the other vehicle. Upon making contact with the other driver, officers observed multiple signs of impairment. The operator was asked to submit to field sobriety tests, which they were unable to complete. The operator was subsequently placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
