On April 13, 2021 at 4:58 p.m., Hampton Township Police responded to Route 8 and East Bardonner Road for a three vehicle accident with possible injuries. Upon arrival, officers located the three involved vehicles in the roadway. The accident was said to have occurred when two vehicles were stopped in the northbound curb lane of Route 8, waiting at a red traffic signal at the intersection. The operator of a third vehicle, which was also traveling in the northbound curb lane of Route 8, approached the intersection as the light turned from red to green. The operator failed to recognize that the other vehicles had not started to move forward for the green light, and was unable to stop their vehicle in time. This resulted in the vehicle striking the rear of another vehicle, which then was pushed into the rear of a third involved vehicle. Two of the three vehicles had to be towed from the scene.
