On April 17, 2021 at 2:27 a.m., a Hampton Township officer observed a vehicle on Route 8 that was traveling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle then traveled through a steady red traffic signal and a traffic stop was initiated by the officer. The operator displayed visible indicators of impairment and was asked to submit to field sobriety tests. The operator failed to complete the tests as had been explained and demonstrated and was subsequently placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI.
