On May 5, 2021 at 7:10 a.m., Hampton Township Police responded to Route 8 and Mount Royal Boulevard for a report of a vehicle accident that was called in by one of the involved drivers. Upon the officer's arrival, the operator of one vehicle stated that they were driving south on Route 8 and that the other vehicle was "tailgating" their vehicle. The operator claimed that the other vehicle struck the rear of their vehicle because of how close it was. The driver of the second vehicle claimed that they were traveling south on Route 8 when they were being followed too closely by the other driver. They stated that the other vehicle eventually passed their vehicle, pulled in front of them and then proceeded to drive very slowly while "brake-checking" . The second driver adamantly denied that there was any physical contact between vehicles. There was no damage observed to either vehicle. Both parties were advised on safe driving skills.
