[ARCHIVED] Property Damage due to Runaway Tire

On May 26, 2021 at 1:17 p.m., Hampton Township Police responded to a business on Route 8 for a property damage report. Upon arrival, the responding officer spoke to a business owner, who advised that a runaway tire and wheel had fallen off of a vehicle traveling on Route 8 and struck two unoccupied vehicles that were parked in the parking lot. The operator of the vehicle in question remained on scene for the police to arrive. The operator stated that they were traveling south on Route 8, when the entire front wheel fell off of their vehicle and rolled away. The unoccupied vehicles sustained minor damage as a result of the collision.
