Good morning Hampton Township residents,
If you are waking up or traveling on the roads this morning and notice that the roads may not be as clear as they usually are, there are a few contributing factors that we want to make you aware of:
- The salt supply chain on the entire east coast is low and causing all municipalities/counties/states with a shortage. We continue to receive salt, but in shorter supplies than we normally do.
- We have salt but our crews were out this morning focusing on plowing first and concentrating on intersections and hills.
- Our crews were out 36 hours during the last winter event this week with a short break in between events. Not a full crew and a couple of trucks down causes delays in maintaining the roads.
If you do not have to go out right away this morning, please stay home and stay safe. Our crews are doing everything they can to clear the roads as quickly and safely as possible.
