On 06/10/2022 at 12:45p.m., Hampton Township Officers were dispatched to the area of E Hardies and RT8 for a report of a 4 vehicle accident with vehicles still on the roadway. No reported injuries were said to be involved. Upon arrival, officers observed a pickup truck with an enclosed trailer resting against the front of it. The vehicle was on RT8 north in the right turn lane for E Hardies Road. The trailer was not attached to a vehicle. The responding officers then observed a flat bed truck on the south side of E Hardies Road, just off RT8. The flat bed truck was backed against a cement wall. The accident was said to have occurred when the operator of one vehicle was broke down at the intersection. Another operator stopped to try and aid the driver of the disabled vehicle. The assisting driver then attempted to unhook their trailer to then assist in pulling the disabled vehicle to the gas station. The driver stated they had chalked the tires of the trailer but it was so heavy it began sliding down the hill before striking the other truck. The truck then attempted to pull the disabled vehicle utilizing chains, but the chains snapped, which caused the truck to then roll into another car.
