On 6/15/23, the Hampton PD were dispatched to the intersection of William Flinn Hwy and McCully Rd. for a report of a two vehicle accident with reported entrapment. Upon arrival, all occupants of both vehicles were out of their vehicles. Shaler Hampton EMS arrived on scene and evaluated all occupants. Hampton and North Hampton Fire departments were dispatched for traffic control and roadway clean up.
The driver of Unit #1 stated that he was stopped at the stop sign on McCully Rd., and when he attempted to make a left hand turn onto William Flinn Hwy, he did not see unit #2 when he entered the roadway. Unit #1 sustained severe damage to the front end and was removed from the scene by Leo's Auto Service. The driver of Unit #1 was transported back to his residence by a Hampton Police Department Officer.
The driver of Unit #2 stated that she was travelling north bound on William Flinn Hwy in the curbed lane when unit #1 started to pull out from McCully Rd. into her lane of travel. She stated that she swerved into the passing lane to avoid the collision but unit #1 continued and she struck unit #1. Unit #2 sustained severe damage to the passenger side front fender as well as the passenger side and was removed from the scene by Leo's Auto Service. The occupants were transported from the scene by a family member.
