On 7/10/2023, the Hampton Township Police Department was dispatched to the area of Arby's for a motor vehicle accident. While en route, Allegheny County dispatch advised that there were possibly four vehicles involved, with no injuries being reported. Upon arrival, four vehicles were confirmed to be involved, all were found to have pulled into the Arby's parking lot.
The accident was said to have happened when Unit #1 was traveling south in the left travel lane of William Flinn Highway when a phantom vehicle cut the initial vehicle off, causing the driver to brake aggressively, resulting in the chain reaction rear-end collision. One vehicle was towed from the scene.
