[ARCHIVED] Hampton Police "No Shave November" Donates to the Mrs. Claus Club North Hills Chapter

The Hampton Police Department is currently participating in the No Shave November and Don't Stop December, January and February for two fundraisers: the Mrs. Claus Club North Hills Chapter and for Hampton Township Central Elementary 1st Grader Kaylee Manz who has Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
At Hampton Council's December 13th Regular Meeting, members of the Police Department presented a check to representatives of the Mrs. Claus Club.  Since Sgt. Kirsopp said it so well that evening, we are going to let his words say it all...“Good evening ladies and gentlemen, I am Sgt. Robert Kirsopp and I have had the privilege of addressing Council several times while representing the Hampton Twp Police Department and our charitable work.  I’m quite sure you that you know our officers are hard working and provide a great service to this community.  For the past few years, Chief Vulakovich has graciously given us the opportunity to participate in No-Shave November.  Female officers can wear their hair in a ponytail and male officers can choose not to shave their face.  It provides some comfort to us all while providing a talking point with community in support of killing cancer. In order to violate these policies, officers donate money into our charitable fund.  I’d point out that  some officers donate into the fund without taking advantage of the policy violations.  In addition, we received donations from the Chief, the Assistant Manager, the current Twp Manager Mr. Lochner and the new Twp Manager Ryan Jeroski.  We thank you for your generous support to our charities.  For three years now the Hampton Police have supported the Pittsburgh North Chapter of the Mrs. Claus Club. The club provides valuable support to local individuals undergoing cancer treatments.  I can attest to their support. I’m sure Council is aware of my current battle with cancer.  I appreciate all the support that I have received along the way from my friends, family, this great community, my employer Hampton Township and groups like the Mrs. Claus Club.  Recently I was given an opportunity to address approximately 450 supporters of the Mrs. Claus. Many of whom I spoke with afterwards that praised their efforts.  Their work in providing care baskets to cancer patients is invaluable. The items in the care baskets are based on valuable experience and love.  Just as the Hampton Police provides a valuable service  to community, so does the Mrs. Claus Club.  The Hampton Twp Police Department charitable fund is proud to present $2,000.00 to the Mrs. Claus Club. I’d like to point out that over the past three years, the Hampton Police have donated approximately $8,000.00 to the Mrs. Claus Club.
Representatives from the Mrs. Claus Club (Jeana or Melissa) extended their appreciation for the donation.
Members of council, we thank you for your time.”
