On 11/28/2023, Hampton Township Police were dispatched to William Flinn Highway between Titan Heating and Air and Mount Royal Boulevard for a report of a multi vehicle accident involving a truck/trailer verse a passenger vehicle. Upon arrival, Officers observed the roadway to be covered in a thin sheet of ice. PennDOT was contacted and requested to respond at this time.
It was determined that Unit #1 was traveling in the north bound passing lane of William Flinn Hwy when he struck a thin sheet of ice in the roadway. As a result of this, the vehicle began to spin in a counterclockwise motion. At this same time, Unit #2 was traveling in the opposing direction in the south bound curb lane of William Flinn. As Unit 1 continued to spin, he entered into the opposing south bound travel lanes and struck the rear wheel of the trailering unit of Unit #2.
Unit #1 sustained major disabling damage to its front end as well as multiple airbag deployments. Unit #2 sustained no damage to his tow vehicle, but the axle of his trailering unit became sheered from the wheel as a result of the collision. Leo's Towing responded to remove Unit #1 from the scene, while Ferrah's Towing responded to remove Unit #2's trailer from the scene.
