On 12/05/2023, Hampton Township Police were dispatched to the area of 4284 William Flinn Highway for a report of a two vehicle accident with unknown injuries. Officers arrived on scene and observed two vehicles blocking both northbound lanes of William Flinn Highway and a male lying on the ground off to the side of the road.
Unit 1 stated they were traveling southbound on William Flinn Highway attempting to locate a dentist office in Castletown Square. Unit 1 stated they were not paying attention to the roadway and were looking for the office while executing a left hand turn from the left hand lane of William Flinn Highway to enter the plaza. As Unit 1 was executing the left hand turn, Unit 1 struck Unit 2 as Unit 2 was traveling northbound on William Flinn Highway. Unit 1 sustained moderate damage to the 12 o'clock position. A passenger reported an injury to the right side of her abdomen and was transported to UPMC Passavant by Shaler Hampton EMS. Both occupants of Unit 1 were wearing their seatbelts. No air bags were deployed. Zang Auto Body towed the vehicle from the scene.
Unit 2 stated they were traveling northbound on William Flinn Highway in the right hand lane. Unit 2 stated they observed Unit 1 executing a left hand turn which prompted Unit 2 to apply the brakes hard. Unit 1 then struck Unit 2 while both vehicles were still in motion. Unit 2 sustained moderate damage to the 10 and 11 o'clock position. The driver complained of a left shoulder injury and was transported to UPMC Passavant by Shaler Hampton EMS. Unit 2 was wearing their seatbelt. No air bags were deployed. Zang Auto Body towed the vehicle from the scene.
