The Police Department would like to advise all Township residents of the following group that will be walking the neighborhoods speaking with residents.
Working America, a community affiliate of the AFL-CIO, will be conducting a door-to-door organizing drive in Township of Hampton starting on the 16th of April 2024, and continuing until at least June 2024.
The purpose of this notification is to provide you with background information on Working America and their canvassing
operation, so that you are aware of their activities and have the information you need to respond to any inquiries about their purpose.
Working America is an organization that engages in legislative and political advocacy.
Their canvassing typically operates in the late afternoon and evening, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Because Working America is engaged in constitutionally-protected political speech in its canvassing operation, it is not required to obtain a permit prior to engaging in this activity.
