On April 1, Hampton Police were dispatched to the intersection of Route 8 and Craighead Road, for a vehicle accident. Upon arrival, a rear end collision was observed.
The accident was said to have happened when Unit 1 was traveling behind Unit 2 Northbound on Route 8 and Unit 2 stopped to turn left onto Craighead Road. Unit 1 stated that when both vehicles were in transit, another vehicle in front of him switched into the right lane. At that time, he saw Unit 2 waiting to turn left onto Craighead Road and was unable to stop in time and crashed into Unit 2.
Shaler Hampton EMS was on scene and evaluated one driver. Hampton Fire units arrived on the scene and cleaned up the MS4 portion of this accident.
Both vehicles were towed to Zang's Towing.
