As you are aware, over the past year-and-a-half, the Township of Hampton has been constructing a new Allison Park Water Pollution Control Plant at the same location, 2527 Duncan Avenue. This project has reached somewhat of a milestone point, where a portion of the new plant came online as of this morning, September 4th.
As the old plant is taken out of service and the new plant becomes operational, it is possible that you may notice potential odors emanating from the area. To be clear, we do not anticipate the transition to the new plant creating an odor issue, but we want to alert you to this possibility. As the new plant continues to operate throughout the rest of this year, we expect that any issues that may impact you and your neighbors will dissipate.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we undertake this necessary upgrade of our wastewater treatment plant. We continue to strive in providing safe and effective wastewater services to all our residents. Should you have any questions on the project, you are welcome to reach out to Jim Degnan, Director of Environmental Services, at 412-486-0400 x3312 or jim.degnan@hampton-pa.org.
