On 1/18/2025, Hampton Police were dispatched to the area of West Hardies Rd. for a report of a vehicle that took out a telephone pole with power lines down. Upon arrival on scene, they observed an Allegheny County DPW salt truck off the roadway and surrounded by potentially live power lines. Hampton Fire was on scene and encouraged the driver to stay in the vehicle. Duquesne Light was notified and arrived on scene and deemed the scene safe as power was turned off. Rescue efforts were then able to be started.
