Due to ongoing dry weather and a seasonal lack of vegetation, Hampton and the surrounding areas are currently at an elevated risk of fire. We anticipate that these conditions will continue today and tomorrow. Hampton Volunteer Fire Department has already responded to three incidents within the past two days related to recreational fires that spread out of control. We strongly recommend that residents refrain from having recreational fires during this time. Also, please exercise caution when grilling outside or emptying charcoal or ash.
