[ARCHIVED] Route 8 Improvements at Duncan Avenue begin Monday in Hampton Township

PennDOT is announcing work on a $2.48 million improvement project at Route 8 and Duncan Avenue in Hampton Township, Allegheny County, will begin Monday, March 23rd, weather permitting.

The local Hampton Township project will improve safety and mobility on Route 8 at the intersection with Duncan Avenue by adding turning lanes, widening Route 8 and implementing traffic signal upgrades. Additional work will include new drainage, curb and sidewalk installation, lighting improvements, milling and paving and the construction of a park and ride lot.

Beginning on Monday, March 23rd, a single lane closure on northbound Route 8 will occur between Clearview Road and Murray Avenue through Friday, March 27th. Additionally, various lane shifts and temporary lane closures will be implemented throughout the project which is scheduled to end in mid-December. A press release will be issued when the southbound lane restrictions begin.

S.E.T., Inc. is the prime contractor on the project.
