On March 19, 2015 at 10:15 AM a Hampton Twp resident came to the police station with a letter she received in the mail and inquired if the letter was fraudulent. The letter included an "official check" from the Northern Assurance Brokerage and Financial Services for $4682.11. The letter stated she won the Communications Mega Sweepstakes Raffle. The resident never entered the lottery/ sweepstakes. She was advised that it was a scam and she could notify the US Postal Inspector since it was mail fraud or she could destroy the letter.
