On January 5, 2017 at 11:56 p.m., Hampton Township officers were dispatched to Route 8 in response to an individual who was reported to be smoking marijuana in their vehicle. An officer was able to intercept the vehicle in question and observed a traffic violation. A traffic stop was then conducted on Harts Run Road, and contact was made with the driver, who showed signs of impairment. The driver was arrested for suspicion of DUI, possession of drugs, and possession of paraphernalia.
