On April 7, 2017 at 2:40 p.m., Hampton Township officers were dispatched to Route 8, at Wildwood Road Extension, for a two vehicle accident. The accident occurred when one vehicle was rear ended by another. The operators stated that a bus was stopped in the curb lane of Route 8, waiting for pedestrians to cross the street at Wildwood Road Extension, prior to turning onto the roadway. There was a second vehicle stopped behind the bus, waiting until for it to complete the turn, when it was struck from behind. One vehicle had to be towed from the scene.
