On May 2, 2017 at 11:05 p.m., Hampton Township officers were advised by dispatch to be on the lookout for a grey Honda sedan being driven erratically. A Hampton Township officer was able to intercept the vehicle traveling northbound on Route 8. The responding officer observed multiple traffic violations, including the vehicle striking a curb, while the officer was attempting to initiate a traffic stop. The vehicle came to a stop on Route 8, and upon making contact with the operator, the officer observed multiple signs of impairment. The operator was unable to complete field sobriety tests as had been explained and demonstrated and was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI.
