On May 5, 2017 at 3:00 p.m., Hampton Township officers were dispatched to Route 8, near Duncan Avenue, for a vehicle accident involving multiple vehicles. Upon arrival, the responding officers discovered that three vehicles were involved. The accident occurred when the operator of one vehicle failed to see traffic coming to a stop in front of their vehicle. One vehicle rear-ended a second car, which then struck a third vehicle from behind. Two vehicle occupants were transported to the hospital by ambulance. All vehicles were able to be driven from the scene.
