On May 12, 2017 at 4:40 p.m., Hampton Township officers were dispatched to Route 8, near Harts Run Road, for an accident involving multiple vehicles. Upon arrival, officers observed that four vehicles were involved, and one had to be towed from the scene. The accident occurred when one operator did not stop their vehicle in time for traffic that was stopped in front of them. This caused a chain reaction, which resulted in four vehicles being struck.
