On September 10, 2017 at 2:50 a.m., a Hampton Township officer initiated a traffic stop on Route 8 to perform a welfare check on the vehicle's operator. Upon contacting the driver, they showed visible signs of impairment and vomit was observed on the driver's side door. The driver was asked to submit to field sobriety tests, which were not completed as had been explained and demonstrated. The operator was subsequently placed under arrest for DUI.
