On October 7, 2017 at 3:12 a.m., a Hampton Township Officer conducted a traffic stop on Route 8 after a vehicle committed a red light violation. Upon making contact with the driver, the officer detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the vehicle. The driver was unable to complete field sobriety tests as had been explained and demonstrated and was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI. During an inventory search of the vehicle, officers located a glass smoking pipe and a bag of marijuana.
